Public Notice: Fraudulent Emails Referencing Planning Board or Board of Adjustment Applications

The Town has recently been informed of emails circulating that reference applications submitted to the Planning Board or Board of Adjustment and include requests for payment.

Please be advised:

• The Town does not request application fees or payments through unsolicited email.
• The Town does not ask applicants to wire funds, provide credit card information by email, or submit payment through unfamiliar links.
• Official correspondence regarding applications will come directly from verified Town staff using official Town email addresses and established payment procedures.

These emails appear to be fraudulent and may be part of a phishing scam. If you receive an email requesting payment related to a Planning Board or Board of Adjustment application:

• Do not click any links or attachments.
• Do not provide personal or financial information.
• Do not submit payment.
• Forward the email to [email protected] for review.

The Town is actively reviewing this matter. We encourage all applicants and residents to remain vigilant and verify any payment requests directly with Town Hall.
