Difficulty: Walking easy,
                  XC skiing: easy
                  Mountain biking:  easy

The Old Mail Road Trail is pretty much a straight line trail with very little elevation change that runs for a mile starting at a trail head on Winterberry Road (no kiosk yet, so look for white blazes, and see map) and ends at a trail head on Horace Greeley Road (see map) roughly across and a little east from the intersection with Pulpit Run Road.  Less than 100 feet east on Horace Greeley from this trail head is the southern trail head for Pulpit Brook Trail (see map) which continues on with white blazes.  Old Mail Road Trail travels through some lovely areas, especially running beside a large wetland area.

Notice, that across the street from the Winterberry Road trail head the Old Mail Road continues south as what is known as a Class VI Road.  This extends down to Route 101 (Greeley Highway), but this part of the trail is neither controlled nor maintained by the Amherst Conservation Commission.
