Recreation

The Amherst Conservation Commission manages approximately 2,600 acres of conservation land and a trail network over 25 miles.  It is a goal of the Conservation Commission to allow multiple uses of our conservation properties for all Amherst citizens, including hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, cycling (in a a few designated locations), hunting and other activities.  The Conservation Commission continues to work to preserve land within the Town of Amherst and to expand the trail network to enhance trail connectivity throughout the Town.
