America’s 250th birthday is far more than a single day of celebration, it is a historic milestone that offers communities across the country the opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and connect. Throughout 2026, the Town of Amherst looks forward to celebrating America’s Semiquincentennial with events, educational programs, historical commemorations, cultural activities, and community gatherings that will bring residents of all ages together.
This milestone provides an opportunity to honor Amherst’s past, celebrate the present, and inspire future generations to continue the tradition of service, patriotism, and civic engagement that strengthens our community.
