We take food scraps for composting

We are so excited to be accepting food scraps for composting that get turned into Natural Gas by our outside vendor. Which helps utilities, businesses, and other clean energy buyers reduce their carbon footprint by providing them with a steady supply of renewable natural gas. NHDES estimates that approximately 165,000 tons of food waste were disposed in 2020 — about 24% (based on U.S. EPA calculation of national food waste disposal) of the 688,000 of municipal solid waste disposed by the state’s residents, businesses, and institutions in 2020.

Why Recycle food wastes....

  • Steady supply of renewable natural gas.
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions (methane) from food decomposing in landfills. More than half the greenhouse gas emissions from landfills come from food waste.
  • Diversify energy portfolio.
  • Enhance energy independence.
  • Support family farms.

  • Inedible food waste or scraps.
  • unopened and expired foods.
  • Beverage Wastes.
  • Oils.
  • Dairy Products ie. milk and cheeses.
  • Used or unused cooking and frying greases.
