Coaches Information
We are looking for coaches. We have so many wonderful coaches and we want to make sure we are placing everyone where they will help the program the best. Coaching placement will be at the discretion of the Recreation Department in conjunction with the SVL Board. Decisions will be made based on feedback from a variety of sources - participant survey results, referees, SVL Board recommendations and the needs of the program.
In order to coach for the 8U-12U age groups you will need to be certified with US Lacrosse. Sandlot coaches do not need to be certified with US Lacrosse. If you are already certified, please check you US Lacrosse membership to see if you need to complete any updates this season. If you are new to coaching, you will need to get yourself properly certified before the season starts. You will be reimbursed for the certification expense if you submit your receipt to Amherst Recreation. Here is the link to the Coach Certification | USA Lacrosse. Don’t wait until the last minute to start the process!
- Head coaches and assistant coaches need to hold at least a Silver level certification
- 8U and 10U parent helper (not allowed to coach on the sidelines) need to hold at least a US Lacrosse Membership.
