How do I get a building permit?

Building permit applications are available from the counter at Town Hall or here on the website. In addition to a completed application for each project there may be specific requirements needed to process permit applications.

 

The Forms, Permits and Fees page has the lists of documentation required for one and two family dwellings and for all non-residential applications. Majority of residential projects do not require stamped engineered plans, provided those plans comply with the requirements of the building codes. It is up to the Building Official to determine when engineered plans are required. Plumbing, mechanical and electrical plans may be required on a case-by-case basis.
