Public Notice

The Amherst Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Amherst Town Hall on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  New voter registrations, additions and corrections to the checklist, and party changes may be made at this session.

If registering to vote in Amherst for the first time, please be advised of the importance of bringing the required documents to prove age, identity, domicile (resident of Amherst) and US citizenship. In addition, a new law requires anyone making a name change to supply supporting documents.

 New voters are always welcome to register during business hours at the Town Hall up until 10 days prior to Election Day or at the polls on Election Day.  The next election day is Sept. 8, 2026 – State Primary Election Day.

Important Upcoming Dates:

June 2, 2026 – Last day for currently registered voters to change party affiliation before the State Primary (Check your current status at https://app.sos.nh.gov/viphome)

Sept. 8, 2026 – State Primary Election Day

Nov. 3, 2026 – State General Election Day
