Employment Opportunity: Accountant, Finance Department

Applications are being accepted for the position of Accountant at the Town of Amherst.  The Accountant works under the supervision of the Finance Director.  The position is responsible for the processing and maintaining journal entries, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll, including multi-state and federal reporting.  For the full Job Descritption, please open the link, above.

The position is a Labor Grade 12 with a starting range of between $24.16 to $26.15 per hour. . Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA, CPA desirable but not required).  Five years of experience in computerized payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processing. Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Combination of education and experience will be considered. Instead of being involved with the NH Retirement System, the town will match up to 5.5% of the employee’s pay into a 457(b) retirement account.
