Be sure to sign up early, either online or with the form in the Program Guide. Nothing kills a program quicker than everyone waiting until the very last minute to sign up. Activities usually include:

  • Games, Bridge, and Writing: Fun activities for Adults.
  • Hiking, Vacation Programs for Children, Wilderness Skills, and More: at Peabody Mill Environmental Center.
  • Youth Spanish, Volleyball, Drama, Riding, and Chess: A variety of programs are often available for different ages.
  • Baboosic Lake Activities: Swimming, including Life Guard instruction and the Amherst Swim Team.
  • Archery, Softball, Baseball, Wrestling, Tennis, Soccer, and Yoga: Various programs for children and adults.
  • Basketball Programs and League: A variety of Hoop programs and competiion are available for kids.
  • Skiing at Pats Peak and Crotched mountain: In the winter, for kids, after school. A variety of discounted passes and instruction are available for families, adults, and kids.

The Amherst Recreation Department's mission is to provide residents with quality and diverse programs and facilities that will promote health and wellness, build on knowledge and skills, enjoy family, and come together as a community through similar interests.
