The Peabody Mill Environmental Center (PMEC) is an environmental and science education center which abuts almost 600 acres of Joe English conservation land. Located at the end of Brook Road in Amherst, New Hampshire, the PMEC is directed by the Amherst Recreation Department.

Mission Statement:
The mission of PMEC is to foster an awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the natural world, by offering environmental, conservation, and science programs to all ages. PMEC strives to foster diligent stewardship of our environment so that future generations may inherit and continue to be inspired by the wonders of a protected and natural world.

Natures Corner ~ Learn Something New
Monthly educational sessions will be held a PMEC with topics from Woodlot Management to Organic Gardening. We hope that you will view the schedule below, mark the dates on your calendar and plan to make the trip out to our community’s environmental center for what is sure to be an interesting and educational session.
Fee: $10 Resident; $15 Nonresident
Time: 1:00pm

Snowshoe Rentals
Snowshoes are available in a variety of sizes for <30 lbs. to >220 lbs. If you can walk, you can snowshoe!
Rent in person during PMEC hours of operation.
When: Monday & Tuesday 9:00am-1:00pm; Friday 9:00am-4:00pm; Saturday & Sunday 12:00-4:00pm
Fee: $6 per resident / $8 per non-resident maximum four hour usage or $20 for 24 hour rental; $15 Amherst Resident family (3+ people), $20 Nonresident family

Birthday Celebrations
PMEC is excited to offer Birthday Celebrations. Children love our nature, craft, and "in the lab" themed parties. Click HERE or call us at 673-1141 for more info.
