Two 12 week programs for kids at the Peabody Mill Environmental Center with instructor, Roberta Woolfson, experienced Literature and Drama Expert, Professional Storyteller, & Director of Children's Theatre. Roberta Woolfson has taught literature, speech and drama for 25 years in South Africa and the United States. She is accomplished in all the arts, painting, dance, drama and music. She’s taught in the Milford School system and has directed children’s theater and theater workshops for the American Stage Festival and Andy’s Summer Playhouse. Lights Up Drama Studio has been in operation for 10 years.
The philosophy of Roberta Woolfson and the Lights Up Drama Studio is that drama should be an integral part of a child’s education, involving the workings of the imagination and the craft of communication. Drama is so much more than theater, which deals with a performance and an audience, drama is more about a child’s development. Lights Up Drama Studio’s is concerned with providing opportunities for invention and expression, with an understanding of human situation and behavior through movement and speech; with a bringing to life, in a way that adds to personal experience.
