Balloon Rides

The red, white, and blue balloon that has graced the front lawn of Souhegan High School for the past few years on July 3rd moved from the area and is no longer available. Fortunately REMAX has come to the rescue of the celebration and has offered to give tethered hot air balloon rides in their REMAX balloon with the proceeds to be used for good causes in the community. The town is indebted to them.

If the fickle weather allows, the balloon will be set up on the front field of the high school on July 3 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Rides will be available for $8.00 per ride from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Two to three people, depending on size, can ride at one time for a 3-4 minute 50 foot tethered ride.

Safe ballooning requires minimum winds, daylight and no storms. There have been years when the winds have kept the balloon on the ground. The community’s cooperation is appreciated by the Fourth of July Committee when the schedule must be changed.

So—this year’s wish is for great ballooning weather!
