Detail Policy

Effective July 1, 2003, the Amherst Fire Department established a Detail Policy. The Policy covers those instances where fire personnel are required to standby due to a problem with a fire detection/notification system, sprinkler system, or where the rated occupancy of a facility is exceeded. The rates are $35.00 per hour per firefighter with a four hour minimum. The rate for an Engine or Ladder is $52.00 per hour, and the rate for a Staff Car is $16.00 per hour, both also with a four hour minimum.
