Cable Franchise — Adelphia

Adelphia holds a non-exclusive franchise to serve the Town of Amherst with Cable Television services, and also offers a high-speed Internet service called PowerLink. The current franchise agreement is active through 5 July 2006. The franchise was originally given to Americable in 1991, which transferred it to Harron Communications on 24 August 1998, and then Harron transferred it to Adelphia on 30 August 1999. In order to meet the needs of the Customer, on October 6th (2003) Adelphia will be launching a new and improved way to install and activate your Power Link services. If your computer meets the minimum requirements of:

  • 32 MB of RAM
  • 150 MB of available hard drive space
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or Higher
  • Windows 98 or Higher (MAC users will need to call the local office
  • CD-Rom Drive
  • and an Ethernet or USB port

You can now pick up the new Adelphia High Speed Internet self installation kit and activate the Internet service from your home. These self installation kits can be picked up in the Merrimack or Londonderry Offices as well as various retailers in the area such as Best Buy and Circuit City.
