The Amherst Board of Selectmen created the Communications Infrastructure Committee (CIC)
to better serve the residents, businesses and governmental entities of the Town of Amherst,
New Hampshire in matters regarding electronic communications: Internet Access, Cable TV delivery,
Wireless Communications and other future communications infrastructure technologies.
The Communications Infrastructure Committee (CIC) meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of

High Speed Internet Access Options
The committee is working to identifying all options available to Amherst residents
and businesses for high-speed internet access. As competitive offerings are identified, they will
be cataloged on our high-speed internet page.
Public, Educational, Government (PEG) Access
At Town Meeting on March 11th 2003, the voters of Amherst approved a petition warrant
article calling for broadcast of Selectmen and other meetings from Town Hall on the cable system PEG
channel. The CIC is responsible for acquiring and installing equipment, and organizing and training
volunteers to make these broadcasts possible. The goal for beginning broadcasting is
October, 2005.
