Conservation Commission
The Amherst Conservation Commission was established in 1968 under
Chapter 36-A of the New Hampshire revised statutes
"for the proper utilization and protection of the natural resources and for the protection of watershed resources"
in town.
The Conservation Commission meets the second
Sunday of the month at 7:00 in Town Hall for the first 11 months of the year.
In December, the Conservation Commission meets on the first Sunday
due to the tree-lighting ceremony that occurs on the second Sunday.
Seven voting members may be appointed to the Conservation Commission by the selectmen
( Section 36-A:3 ).
Alternate members are appointed to vote in the absences of regular members and they may perform any
other duties of the commission. Current members of the Conservation Commission are listed below.
