The Amherst Assessing Office is responsible for calculating the Assessed Value
of each property in Amherst and ensuring that each is assessed equitibly in
relation to market value. Property taxes are then calculated, based on the
assessed value of each property. Amherst utilizes software provided by
Vision Appraisal Technology
of Northboro, MA. The assessed values of Amherst properties can be found in the
Vision Appraisal Online Database.
Municipal Resources, Inc. is the Town's contracted Assessors and
are usually in the Town Hall three to four days during the work week.
Please feel free to call and speak with them with questions you may have
regarding your assessment. Some of the duties of the Town's contracted
Assessors are to follow up on building permits, quarterly reviews and data
checks on properties. If you have any questions regarding their
credentials, please contact us here at the Town Hall and we will verify who they
are and if they are in your neighborhood on that particular day.
